The daily
trade write-up
One page · Ten minutes · Before the bell
I fill this in every morning before the open. It takes about ten minutes.
Most journals record what happened. Your entry, your exit, a screenshot. This one records the decision instead: what I needed to see before I'd act, what I actually did, and whether those two matched.
Early on, they usually didn't. Finding that out in writing, every day, is what changed how I trade.
What is on it
- 01Context. Daily and 4H state, what is in play, what is on the calendar.
- 02Bias. Direction and reasoning, written before the window opens.
- 03The trade you are waiting for. Playbook, opening type, confluences, trigger, target logic.
- 04Lines in the sand. What invalidates the idea.
- 05After the close. Decision quality, did it appear as written, deviation report, one takeaway.
No trigger, no trade. One trade, max.
